The U-tube heat exchanger refers to a shell-and-tube heat exchanger in which the tube bundle is composed of U-shaped tubes of different radius of the curved tube and both ends of the tube are fixed on the same tube sheet. Since each U-shaped tube is free to expand and contract, no temperature difference stress is generated between the tube bundle and the housing. Baffles, longitudinal partitions, etc. are arranged in the shell. The baffle is fixed by a tie rod. The longitudinal baffle is a rectangular plate mounted parallel to the direction of the heat transfer tubes to increase the flow rate of the shell side media. Its structure is more complex than a fixed tube plate heat exchanger and simpler than a floating head heat exchanger.

U-tube heat exchanger has only one tube plate, both ends of the tube are fixed on the same tube plate, the tube can be freely stretched and stretched, no thermal stress, and the thermal compensation performance is good; the tube tube adopts double tube process, the flow is longer, and the flow rate is longer. High, good heat transfer performance, strong pressure bearing capacity, the tube bundle can be extracted from the housing, easy to repair and clean, and the structure is simple and the cost is cheap.

The U-tube heat exchanger has the advantage of solving the temperature difference stress problem by free floating of the tail, and can be cleaned by core cleaning. It is also a heat exchanger that can be used for high temperature, high pressure and high temperature difference, and thus is widely used in petrochemical industry. The common structure of the tube plate and the shell and shell connection is that the two equipment flanges hold a tube plate. In this structure, the force of the bolts on the flanges on both sides of the tube plate are equal, and the design of the bolt should be considered. The conditions on both sides of the board are required to be designed with a large bolt load.
